Where to Canoe The Upper Iowa
River, recognized by National Geographic's Adventure
Magazine, is canoeable for about 110 miles from Lime Springs
to the Mississippi River. This distance seems to divide
naturally into several segments, based on campgrounds and
scenery. The most scenic section with it's 100-200 ft
bluffs, sheer cliffs, eagles, mud swallows, and other
abundant wildlife, is from Kendallville to Bluffton, and
then on to
Decorah-Iowa
